Cloud Computing Features and Benefits

Cloud computing is a universal term for the delivery of hosted services over the internet.
Cloud computing enables companies to utilize a computer resource, such as a virtual machine (VM), storage or an application, as a utility just like electricity, rather than having to build and sustain computing infrastructures in houses.
Cloud computing traces its origins back to 1960s when the computer industry identified the potential benefits of delivering computing as a business or utility. However, initial computing lacked the connectivity bandwidth needed to implement computing as a service. It was not until the broad availability of internet bandwidth in the late 1990s that computing as a service became practical.

Cloud computing boasts numerous alluring benefits for businesses and end users. Five of the main advantages of cloud computing are;
1. Self-service provisioning
2. Elasticity
3. Pay per use
4. Work load resilience
5. Migration flexibility

SELF-SERVICE PROVISIONING: –
End users can whirl up compute resources for approximately any type of workload on demand. It eliminates the common need for IT administrators to provision and manages to assess resources.
ELASTICITY: –
Companies can scale up as needs of computing increase and can scale down as the demands start decreasing. This phases out the need for extensive investments in local infrastructure, which may or may not remain active.
PAY PER USE: –
Compute resources are calculated at a granular level, sanctioning users to pay only for the resources and workloads they use.
WORKLOAD RESILIENCE: –
Cloud service providers implement redundant resources to ensure resilient storage and to keep user important workloads often running across various global regions.
MIGRATION FLEXIBILITY: –
Institutions can move certain workloads to or from the cloud or to the other cloud platforms as desired or automatically for better cost accumulation or use new services as they come on the scene.
